In Gospel, Idaho everyone knows that there are two universal truths. First, God did His best work when He created the Sawtooth Wilderness Area. Second, every sin known to heaven & earth, from the hole in the ozone to alien abductions, is all California's fault.
Guest Reviewer Sandi von Pier writes:
True Confessions is the story of what happened when a Californian came to visit Gospel, Idaho. Hope Spencer is an L.A. based tabloid reporter, suffering from writer's block. Her seven year marriage is over after her husband gets her best friend pregnant. Her mom has died & her dad has remarried. Her only brother now lives in Germany. She goes to Gospel hoping for inspiration. She gets that & much, much more.
In the quiet town, Hope finds things she didn't realize she was missing. She also discovers that truth is stranger than fiction -- even tabloid fiction!
And then there is the local sheriff Dylan Taber, the town's most eligible bachelor. He is tall, dark & handsome -- looking good in his boring tan uniform & even better in his T & shirt, blue jeans, cowboy hat & boots. Dylan is a single father of a 7-year-old boy whose mother is one of the best kept secrets in Gospel.
Both Hope & Dylan have secrets. They have the right to remain silent or the right to make some True Confessions...which will they do?
Gibson's style is imaginative & I love the names of the people & places where the beauty salon is called “Curl Up and Dye Hair Studio” & can you just see yourself walking into the “Cozy Corner Café”? I can. I've read & loved all of Gibson's books & True Confessions is definitely a funny, steamy read!
