Casey Ellis' life changes when a beautiful townhouse in Boston is left to her.
Guest Reviewer Shelly Itkin writes:
Casey is trying to answer some big questions in her life Will she have a job? What is the journal left to her all about? Should she keep the house? & the hardest of all, will her mom ever recover from her coma?
Although Casey always dreamed & hoped to be recognized by her father, Dr. Cornelius Unger, a celebrated psychologist, it is only after his death that she uncovers the shocking secrets about his life & his family.
In doing this she comes to meet new people & makes career changes, which will eventually bring her into a new stage in her life. She has only had her mother to guide her thru her life & now Casey faces finding questions to answers she had not even thought about before.
It is this journey of discovery that leads Casey to meet someone who is the “perfect man for her”, little realizing that indirectly, her father had thought about her future.
Life comes full circle & Casey is able to “let things go” -- to set her mother free & move on with her life.
I found Flirting With Pete rather healing as it is something I have had to deal with when I finally realized my own mother would not be around for the rest of my life, & had to “set her free”. It is that feeling that makes Casey able, with the love of a wonderful husband, friends & newly acquainted family, to enjoy & fulfill her life.
Flirting With Pete is a tearjerker at times but important for all of us who might have to face some very hard decisions.
