With the creation of a new International Space Station pioneer astronauts are on a mission to a newly discovered planet.
Before lift-off, however, aliens infiltrate the Pentagon with a plot to destroy the mission for unbelievable reasons.
Aboard the E-One, Commander Bennett is in trouble -- he's ill, being threatened with mutiny, there's a murderer on board, he's heading into an interstellar battle &, perhaps the most depressing of all, there will be no return to Earth.
Even though Eden-459 felt as if I was trapped in a carnival midway booth with everyone lobbing balls at me, so crammed full of adventure, old space program saws, UFO stories, galactic trouble & harrowing set-ups, I found it entertaining enough to finish.
Martin J. Stab writes like a reporter -- nothing fancy, just plain information, which gives the impression of authenticity, rather like a captain's log book.
Fantastic stuff, when you think about it, although I have a feeling hardcore Sci-Fi folks will find it a bit simple for their tastes!
Martin Stab is a member of the National Space Society. He certainly has a future as an author, if he learns to add dimension, & some glue & “couth” to his words.
