Ice Hunt
James Rollins
(Reviewer - D. H. BROWN)

2003 William Morrow
ISBN: 0060521562

Buried deep in the earth's polar ice cap, carved into a moving island of ice twice the size of the U.S. is a secret place.

The U.S.S.R. had built & then abandoned the site & the experiments that had been going on there. Now, the American undersea research vessel, the Polar Sentinel, has inadvertently come too close to the hollowed-out iceberg ... & one of the crew sees something alive inside. Something that should never have survived.

Sr. Staff Reviewer D. H. BROWN writes:

Ice Hunt is the first book written by James Rollins I have laid my hands on. & I will have to say that it is some of the most plausible near future science fiction I've read in quite some time.

Adventure grabs you, starts running, doesn't let you go, with a little voice whispering “Don't stumble! Don't stumble!” Page by page you're led into the maze, & page by page you're brought out until you wipe the sweat off your brow, slow your pounding heart & say “Wow! That was good!”

Ice Hunt is all about secrets, near, far & in between. & what not only individuals will do but governments will do to hide their secrets or regain control of them once they're lost.

Collusion & delusion mix to make a nerve-tingling read that doesn't stop. I liked Ice Hunt ... a lot! & will be looking for more from James Rollins.
