Book Cover

Bailey was heading home in his steam-powered rocket when he found a message pod which he picked up, notifying its owners. The next thing he knew, the legendary Gitana, adventurer extraordinaire, was arriving at Bailey's asteroid home. With her was a crew of the oldest & richest clone family in the galaxy. Bailey is shangaied into searching with them for an alien artifact that may well be a map of the entire wormhole system.

Rebecca has a hard time with Science Fiction so when this book came over the transom I grabbed it from the her!

WOW! This was my first Pat Murphy book & since then I've read another & am looking forward to her next!

Thoroughly enjoyable! Caught me by the hairs of my chinny, chin, chin & led me right along, nose to the page, to the very end!

The characters were all enjoyable in their own way & Bailey, the anti-hero, was definitely heroic! With just the right touch of naivete & modesty! Just what I like to see in a protagonist!

Pat Murphy did an excellent job of interweaving that which we guess about science & what we hope about science.

This is definitely a book that I will pick up again someday & read. Lots of fun!

Rebecca's rules on author's submissions is that we donate them to our local library, this is one autographed tome she'll have to fight me for, it's going on my shelf!

Also by Pat Murphy: The Falling Woman for which she won the Nebula Award; Nadya: The Wolf Chronicles plus more. Do check out her newly released (August 2000): Wild Angel.

Do catch Rebeccas Interview with Pat Murphy as one of The Brazen Hussies
