 Return of the Anasazi
 Wee Dilts
 (Sr. Staff Reviewer - D. H. BROWN)

 2001 1st Books Library
  ISBN: 0759640696

Amazon's price is: $20.23

Planet Anasazi is coming to the end of its life, how will Owl Man lead his people back to Mother Earth?

In a vision, Owl Man sees the coming end of life as he & his villagers know it. Who can help him understand this dreadful vision? Who will know where to go?

In a place where people live for several centuries, where travel by spaceship to nearby planets, is almost as common as driving cars from one city to another in today's world, we follow two spiritual leaders on their quest for safety for their people, the rescue of Mother Earth, & their path to eternal life.

Sr. Staff Reviewer D. H. BROWN writes:

I really don't know where to start with a review of Return of the Anasazi.

It's science fiction with the lilt of Native American Oral tradition, flavored by Juvenile Fantasy.

One of the treasures of my youth, was the ability to sit among Navajo Grandmothers & Grandfathers, to listen to the stories. Wee Dilts has captured the essence of that type of storytelling, & has offered as good as any of an explanation for certain legends pertaining to the disappearance of the Anasazi People.

Did I finish the book? Yeah, I did. Not because of the great writing, but because of a kind of puzzled fascination with what I might find on the next page. The improbabilities of the story are topped only by the author's interpretations of legends.

If you're looking for good solid science fiction, do not venture into the Return of the Anasazi. If you're willing to allow your imagination to be twisted into unimaginable shapes, then this book is for you!

In most cases, I would give such a book a good strong 2 teapot rating but because of the absolute uniqueness of the real estate covered by Wee Dilts, I'm giving it a 3.
