A deep space explosion in Riftspace sends Captain Gilliane Davre 350 years into the future. There her likeness graces every shrine, & her accident has been recorded in history as a divine sacrifice.
Associate Reviewer Colleen Helme writes:
When Gilliane awakens & finds herself in an unfamiliar sick bay, she wonders vaguely if she has died. Her sentient crystal-ship Simon, who is linked to her telepathically, tells her that not only is she still alive, but she has traveled into the future!
Trying to find out what happened, & keep her identity a secret, is no small task, especially when she is confronted by the ship's Admiral Rynan “Mack” Makarian & must account for her whereabouts in a forsaken quadrant. Her immediate attraction to Mack does not help matters either, & as their trust & love for each other unfolds, Gilliane must decide how much she can tell him without losing him.
When an old enemy resurfaces & threatens the entire Khalaran Confederation, she must step in with her magical powers to stop the wizards who are bent on defeating & enslaving them. But by using her powers, the people will know who she really is, & Mack will know she lied to him. How can she fulfill her destiny without losing the man she loves?
This is a delightful futuristic science fiction fantasy about a woman with special powers who has landed in the middle of a battle between good & evil. It's a great mix of magic & technology in a fun & oftentimes amusing way, with wonderful characters & a page-turning plot.
An Accidental Goddess is a fast-paced romantic sci-fi adventure which will appeal to readers of all genres.
