The Saga of Seven Suns -- Book I. Having colonized the worlds of the spiral arm, three branches of humanity now face certain doom.
The Earth-based Terran Hanseatic League, the telepathic Green Priests of Theroc, & the rebellious, starship-dwelling Roamers -- all consider themselves lords of creation & see the galaxy as theirs for the taking. After all, the only aliens they've ever encountered are the harmless Ildirans, & the mighty ruins of the Klikiss, long since extinct.
Sr. Staff Review D. H. BROWN writes:
As anyone who has ever read any of my science ficton reviews well knows, I'm a sucker for great Sci-Fi space operas. & Hidden Empire: The Saga of Seven Suns Book I, is space opera on the grandest scale -- a vast new future universe cut out of wholecloth & assembled on a galactic scale, right before your eyes.
This is hard science fiction -- not fantasy -- with a fantastic scope.
I think the most impressive aspect of this great new work, is Kevin J. Anderson's assumption that this human species of ours, once freed of the surly bonds of earth, will continue to expand, change & fill every niche that exists in this splendid universe in which we find ourselves. & the every adaptability that has brought us thus far, will continue to drive us no matter what stage upon which we're called to play.
Kevin J. Anderson has peopled this universe who have an an edge to them, a depth & character that far too few writers are able to achieve.
I am eagerly awaiting A Forest of Stars Book II, scheduled for publication in July 2003. It is definitely on my list of books to review from Warner Books.
Finding Hidden Empire & reading it soon, should be a priority for every avid sci-fi fan.
More from Kevin J. Anderson: Hopscotch; Dogged Persistence & all his Star Wars books.
