A 3,400 Mile Walk in Search of America.
In August 2001, Dan Rogers quit his safe corporate job with all the perks for retirement, to chase a dream. Giving up security & the comforts of modern day living, he stepped out of his front door in Ohio in search of America.
Twelve states, the tragedy of September 11, two years & over three thousand miles later, he arrived at the Pacific Ocean, knowing he'd experienced what few have ever done or known.
While Dan Rogers is not a writer, per se, his recounting of his adventures as he wanders the back roads of this sprawling land, are filled with curiosity & philosophy. He often writes of the environment & the histories of the little & large places he walks through, especially the Trails he follows. There are also maps & photos along the way.
If you want to know more about the everyday America, you could do not better than to walk along with Dan Rogers from Ohio through Kentucky & Tennessee, cutting across the corner of Alabama into Mississippi. Turning north to Arkansas & along the border of Oklahoma into the panhandle of Texas & on through New Mexico, Arizona & California.
Dan Rogers is an Eagle Scout & a Navy Veteran. He has a Bachelors Degree in Business Administration. He has walked more than 7500 miles many of which were along the famous Appalachian Trail.
