Never Play Leapfrog with a Unicorn

2003 Trafford Publishing
ISBN: 1412013054
A coming of age slice of farcical life. Proving that between life's drama & comedy lies the dramedy.
This is a zany, hilarious take on the childhood of the son of a miner who's greatly influenced by the incomprehensible, the improbable & the unexplainable.
I can't tell if it's part memoir or wishful remembering. I do know it's a mad rush of breathless scenes, with quite a load of profound insights skating on the thin ice of the insanity that afflicts dysfunctional families.
For a change of pace in your reading, & I mean total change as in a non-stop stampede of naughty, heartbreaking & giggle-inducing dialogues & troubles, wrap your mind around Never Play Leapfrog with a Unicorn, & see if you can look at your own life, without laughing.
I also can't tell if it needs an editor! It's such a crazy quilt of writing that sometimes I guffawed & sometimes I just shook my head.
Not all books have to be serious, & this one could be a great stand-up routine at a comedy club.
