Beach Road
James Patterson & Peter De Jonge
(Reviewer - Narayan Radhakrishnan)

2006 Little, Brown & Co.
ISBN: 0316159786

The case of a lifetime comes to a struggling lawyer when he is hired to defend a local star athlete accused of murder.

Sr. Associate Reviewer Narayan Radhakrishnan wrote:

After the 2002 thriller The Beach House, Peter De Jonge once again teams up with James ‘Master of Suspense’ Patterson to deliver a thriller that will blow your mind. & no, The Beach Road is not a sequel, save for the fact that it features a legal protagonist & has an East Hampton setting.

Tom Dunleavy has had a mediocre career both as a student of law & a lawyer. & though he dreamed of making it big in basketball, that also had an early demise. So when a local star athlete, Dante Halleyville, is accused of murdering three... nope... four... make that five people, & calls on the help of Dunleavy, Attorney-at-law, Tom is overawed, & immediately hits the books.

Tom's responsibility ratchets up a notch when his client refuses to take the help of a star defense attorney who has just successfully defended a “major league baseball star... for the murder of his wife”.

Soon the media is calling this the trial of the century & persons interested in the trial include legal doyens like Gerry Spence & Alan Dershowitz. Also keeping a close watch are Steven Spielberg, George Clooney & Matt Damon, & I'm sure I need not spell out the reasons why.

Will Tom help Dante get free? Will he unmask the real killer? & will the race card affect the trial? What follows is Patterson at his zenith, & the ending... simply wow!

Beach Road has nail-biting suspense & spine chilling terror, with an end you never would dare to imagine. Don’t miss this one.
