 Cold Pursuit
 T. Jefferson Parker
 (Reviewer - D. H. BROWN)

 2003 Hyperion
 ISBN: 0786868058

Homicide cop Tom McMichael is on the rotation when a city patriarch is found murdered.

Trouble is, there's bad blood between the Portuguese Bragas & the Irish McMichaels, & while revenge is only one suspicion that rears its ugly head, an old & reckless flame from McMichael's teen years re-ignites, just as he meets another woman who will change his life.

McMichael puts aside the old family feud in search of Pete Braga's murderer, what he can't put aside, however, is his growing trust in the one person everyone has pegged as Braga's killer.

T. Jefferson Parker has explored the heyday of the great tuna fishing fleets which once set out from San Diego, & has cast a line into the history of a town.

Sr. Staff Reviewer D. H. BROWN writes:

I like a good murder mystery! & I like protagonists who set their teeth on the trail of said mystery after said murder, make growling noises like a pit bull & don't turn loose until the last page is turned, & the culprits get their just rewards.

That's the kind of novel T. Jefferson Parker writes. I knew Rebecca had read, loved & reviewed Silent Joe, & I had read Black Water & thought it extraordinary, so it was with great expectations that I picked up Cold Pursuit.

Definitely one of those books that gets the ink on the end of your nose because you can't lay it down. & when it gets dark you get closer & closer while reading because you forget to turn on the light until you can't see anymore, & you're going to finish before dawn comes around.

Definitely engaging & worth the time to read.
