 Bannerman's Ghosts
 John R. Maxim
 (Sr. Staff Reviewer - D. H. BROWN)

 2003 William Morrow
 ISBN: 006000584X

Illegal trade in vaccines & diamonds bring out of retirement two elusive & lethal agents.

Billionaire American Artemus Bourne opens a shipment of ice coolers from his laboratories in West Africa's Angola, expecting vials of vaccines & bags of diamonds, instead there are three human heads, two of men he had known.

Whose is the third man? Why were they murdered & their heads sent to him?
Why does he want to manipulate the FBI & CIA to locate the elusive & lethal international assassin known as The Black Angel?
What has the now suburbanite & at peace ex-agent Paul Bannerman got to do with the shipment, & The Black Angel?

Sr. Staff Reviewer D. H. BROWN writes:

When Rebecca asked me to browse the FSB publicity catalog to see if anything caught my eye, Bannerman's Ghosts leapt off my computer screen, & after an urgent request came into my hands.

I have thoroughly enjoyed the worlds created by John R. Maxim & Bannerman & his people. It's an oasis of justice in a very unjust world, with characters who have determined their own destiny. Where right & wrong are black & white & never shall the twain be merged. Shades of grey not being tolerated & the line between life & death clearly marked.

There are a lot of great writers of thrillers out there & I enjoy a lot of them but John R. Maxim could continue to write his Bannerman stories for the rest of my life, & I would read each & every one.

As to the story of Bannerman's Ghosts, once you've read it it will take days, if not weeks, for the goosebumps to go away. & if you've ever had a thought about bioweapons & their uses, don't plan on going to sleep once you start reading.

Definitely written with 9/11 in mind & the dangerous world we now live in called the New Normal.

If you like a good thriller with a hard edge where the punches aren't pulled & the action is unstoppable, you must read John R. Maxim's Bannerman's Ghosts.

Do yourself a favor & add it to your collection. It's a must-keep!
