Nicolas M. Kublicki's debut thriller The Diamond Conspiracy combines hard-hitting legal suspense, superb techno-action & thrilling adventure. It is a wonderful & page-turning read; a modernday MacKenna's Gold.
Piet Slythe heads an international network that controls the world's supply of diamonds. He is a ruthless multi-millionaire, & the world bullion economy is defacto in his control.
Attorney Patrick Carlton lands the case of a lifetime when he is ordered to settle a lawsuit over a diamond mine. He uncovers a deep-rooted conspiracy that will reverberate through the whole diamond industry. Soon he is drawn into the heat of things & is pitted against Piet Slythe, in a world of mass deception, greed, power & murder.
Carlton's investigation leads him to a behind-the scenes-dealings in the White House, & opponents who would have him dead at the first opportunity. What follows is a David/Goliath fight with the attorney trying to bring Slythe & his cronies to justice.
Kublicki delivers a punch-packed thriller & it is difficult to believe that this is his first book. He combines just the right proportion of techno-thriller elements of the like of Tom Clancy, legal thriller action of the style of John Grisham & pure adventure style of Clive Cussler. He has done wonderful research & his knowledge is well showcased in The Diamond Conspiracy.
A truly breathtaking novel & a great read.
