The Bodyguard
Christy Tillery French
(Guest Reviewer - Beverly J. Scott)

2004 Mystery & Suspense Press
ISBN: 0595308937

A young, single office manager dreams of becoming an investigator.

Natasha jumps at the opportunity to act as bodyguard to computer genius multi-millionaire Roger Valentine while posing as his girlfriend, hoping she can use this as a stepping stone into her firm's investigative department.

Jonce Striker, founding partner of Investigative Services, Inc., does not know what he has let himself in for by suggesting his office manager play bodyguard to his good friend. From the first outing, when Natasha mistakes an extended lighter for a gun & creates chaos at a banquet given in Roger's honor, she causes Striker nothing but consternation & agitation. Natasha is over zealous in protecting Roger & manages to bungle three separate attempts by an extortionist to collect money from him, & drives Striker crazy with her zaniness.

Things turn serious when Roger & Natasha are shot at while playing golf. Who is trying to kill Roger, & why? Is it the same person trying to extort money or someone else? Laugh out loud at Natasha's antics as she stumbles her way through the investigation.

Guest Reviewer Beverly J. Scott writes:

Christy Tillery French's name will soon be synonymous with the term ‘bestselling author’ & The Bodyguard, her fourth novel, is destined to rise to the top of that list.

The Bodyguard combines the feisty irreverence of Chasing Horses with a memorable, multi-dimensional, multi-faceted character begging to be immortalized the way Janet Evanovich's Stephanie Plum has been.

Natasha's chance to get out from behind her desk opens the door to her dreams & what happens changes her life forever.

With its intrigue The Bodyguard grabs your interest & rivets you from page one, right up to the final, very satisfying, conclusion. Using authentic sounding dialogue, right-on action, & an interesting array of fascinating players, Christy French draws readers in & with the finesse of a pro takes you on an unforgettable adventure.

If you have enjoyed Janet Evanovich's books, you need to pick up your own copy of The Bodyguard, you will be delighted. I eagerly look forward to French's next bestseller & hope to meet again the entertaining, intelligent, soft-hearted & in-your-face, twenty-o-four-woman, Natasha. I could tell you all about the story line, but why ruin the adventure for you?

I am proud to count myself a friend of this fabulous author.
