Enchanter
David M. Dibble
(Reviewer - Rebecca Brown)

2004 Asgard Publishing
ISBN: 0974579017

Mystery & murder surround American actors in Italy filming an original Roman comedy.

The romance between lead characters in an ancient play is mirrored by the present-day actor & actress. Over all, directing & manipulating, is the shadowy Cagliostro. Why has he assumed the name of a notorious historical magician?

This is a novel of mystical intrigue with lots of strange goings-on, labyrinths of mystery, ancient pagan passions, modern deceit, narrow escapes & just rewards. Enchanter will enchant those who enjoy a mystery wrapped up in fantasy with a dash of horror.

Unlike David M. Dibble's debut lean & clean action/adventure tale Typhoon Rising, I was not enchanted by the main character -- I couldn't “see” him, & for my taste the tale, while ably written, was a bit predictable.
