ISBN: 0385335555
Dr. David Beck still struggles through every day, 8 years after the murder of his wife, Elizabeth. They had been together since they were in the second grade. As was their tradition they would return every year to the place of their first kiss. The last time he saw her alive was on their 13th anniversary.
Guest Reviewer Sandi von Pier writes:
There aren't many men like David Beck; celebrating the first kiss, carving their initials in a tree -- so romantic.
Everyone tells him it's time to move on, to forget the past once & for all. But how do you go on without someone that has been a “fixture” in your life? Elizabeth was more than just his wife, she was his life. Around the anniversary of “kiss time” it is even more difficult for Beck & then he receives a message on his computer, a phrase only he & his dead wife would know. Suddenly Beck feels that somehow, some way Elizabeth is still alive. Or is he finally going crazy?
The message warns Beck to tell no one, which he doesn't. But he plunges headlong into a search for brings him to places he couldn't have imagined in his worst nightmare. Even though he's careful Beck realizes he's being hunted & someone intends to stop him before he gets there.
Some of the musings by Beck were things I could relate to: “They say it takes a long time to comprehend a tragedy. You're numb. You can't adequately accept the grim reality” & another: “You don't sit back when you or a loved one is being assaulted. If someone hurts you, mercy and pity must be put aside. You eliminate the enemy.” Powerfully touching.
I'm not a speed-reader but the pages were flying by. I couldn't put Tell No One down. “What a tangled web we weave” is an understatement in describing this plot-twisting, page-turner. WOW!
More from Harlan Coben: Deal Breaker, Drop Shot, Fade Away, Back Spin, One False Move, The Final Detail & Darkest Fear to name a few.
