Guest Reviewer Sandi von Pier writes:

Change. That is a frightening word, isn't it? It can render us immobile. It can also leave us feeling like there is now reason to go on. Julie Maxwell has suffered just this type of change. After the death of her husband & best friend all that she's known in life has now completely changed. How can she go on without him?

With the help of Ulysses O. Niveus, that's how! Ulysses hopped into her life and though he's small in size, he's had a huge impact in her life. If you have lost a loved one or have struggled to be all that you can be, this book is for you. Julie had put her own dreams aside for years supporting hers husband's desire to follow his. Now, with Ulysses' help Julie begins again. Relying on the artist within herself she shines.

We all find our own inspiration. Julie finds hers in Ulysses. Who is he you are probably asking? I'm not telling! You'll have to read the book to find out. You won't be sorry if you do.

C.J. Macgenn writes: “A One-Legged Cricket is a story about letting go -- about learning how to believe in yourself, and the magical things that can happen when you do.”

I couldn't put this book down. I've loved and lost so I related to some of Julie's pain. It made me laugh & cry. It's inspiring. It leaves you with a smile.

Thank you C.J. Macgenn, for writing this endearing, empowering story.

The Author writes:
“I started writing stories as soon as I could hold a pencil in my hand & form the letters of the alphabet. My professional writing career, however, took me in another direction -- as a freelance writer for hire. I've always felt good about being a working writer. But, as rewarding as writing for others can be, the truth of the matter is, I was longing to write my own book.

“The inspiration for A One-Legged Cricket came after I found a real cricket, with only one big jumping leg, sitting on the steering wheel of my car.”
