 Marine Force One: Strike Vector
 David Alexander
 (Sr. Staff Reviewer - D. H. BROWN)

 2002 Berkley Books
  ISBN: 0425183076

Book Cover Amazon's price is: $6.99

In the desert of Iraq, extremist forces have gathered materials to create a new weapon of devastation.

Using an overland black-market route that stretches from Germany to Iraq, a group of extremists have put together a hybrid nuclear warhead that can be fired from artillery.

Major David Saxon & his warriors of Marine Force One must plunge into the heart of enemy territory to cut the terrorists' supply line.

Senior Staff Reviewer D. H. BROWN writes:

This book came to me from the author, not my usual fare. Because of my life's experiences I was somewhat hesitant to get into it. When I did, I found that David Alexander had written a very good & absorbing work of military fiction.

Very fast-paced with all of the military bells & whistles ringing & screaming. The action is absorbing, & I felt that it captured the esprit de corps of America's modern military professionals.

However, there were several continuity errors. The manuscript had been written pre-9/11 & not updated. The author's conceived relationship of competitiveness between the US & Russia was contrived, & smacked of a Cold War mentality that no longer exists in the real world.

Glad that I read it? Yes! Would I be willing to read another of this author's books? Yes. Now that I have read it, can I recommend it as a buy? Yes -- even with its flaws.

More from David Alexander: Shadow Down; Special Ops; Marine Force One.
