Personal Prophesy
Deborah Leigh
(Reviewer - Rebecca Brown)

Learn How to Create Your Own Destiny!

As much as Personal Prophesy is about “telling the cards” it is about emotions, insights, self-fulfilling prophesies & Deborah Leigh's life.

There are many sets of cards to be had -- some aspire to spiritual aspects of our lives, others to our fellow creatures & their totemic powers, & of course, the Tarot Cards, which are the ancestors of today's 52 card decks found in every casino, truck stop, drugstore, airport & supermarket. Most of us play various complicated games, usually for money.

There are a few aphorisms based on these cards whose history stretches back into the shadows of time. In human potential seminars we think about the “cards we've been dealt” & “playing the hand we're dealt.”

Many of us, & I am one of them, play the cards as a form of meditation. Taught as Patience in England & Solitaire in America, I was first introduced to these by my great-aunt Tata, in Lisbon, with two miniature Swiss decks worn from half a century or more of handling. It was the way she started each day, & as she dealt the games she would pray. In the evenings she & her married sisters would bring me to the dining room table for marathon Canasta sessions, & no quarter was ever given.

I taught my children about numbers, sequences, fans, sportmanship, cheating, compassion, losing & winning &, of course, patience through playing cards. We each had our own deck, & every year a new one was in our Christmas stockings. They are great traveling companions, aboard the Castel Felice, I learnt my first American Solitaire games.

However, I had not given those 52 cards any “prophetic” or “spiritual” or “emotional” contexts, other than, as a child when I played Old Maid, the Queen of Spades for some strange reason reminded me of Lady Macbeth -- not my two spinster aunts.

Of course everyone is happy when looking at the Heart cards. Everyone assumes that the Diamonds will bring wealth. The Spades imply death & sadness, & the Clubs are all about intelligence.

Well, along comes Deborah Leigh & Elizabeth Rose & their Personal Prophesy teachings. This author makes no pretense at being a Ph.D. or that the art of reading the cards is rocket science, however, her book sets out an interesting new way of looking at these cards & our reactions to them.

Her chapter titles include:
Getting What You Want Out of Life
Introduction to Card Reading Course
Welcome to the Advanced World of Personal Prophesy
Advancing Your Own Intuitive Skills
Understanding Coping & Attaining
Perceptions On Love, Happiness & Relationships.

That's quite a different way to see these cards, usually associated with gambling, evil & debt!

So, yes, I do recommend Personal Prophesy -- it will give hours of interest, teach you how to hone your intuition (find it if you haven't already), how to look at relationships from a historical point of view, & it is actually, quite informative & entertaining! & no, you don't have to agree with everything Deborah Leigh writes -- only you know the cards you've been dealt & only you can play them to the best of your ability & to your best advantage!

Deborah Leigh lives in Virginia & has been reading ordinary playing cards & studying the principles of Personal Prophesy for 22 years. She is the Psychic Love Doctor for ASTRONET & can be reached at www.psychiclovedoctor.com
