Ten Secrets for Making Any Dream Come True.
If a guy can swim the length of the Mississippi ... imagine what he can tell you about making your dream come true.
What's your Mississippi? Big or small, it's that one dream that won't let go .. write a book ... start your own business ... bike across the U.S. ... kayak around one of the Great Lakes ... whatever!
Let Swim Lessons be your guide to plunging headlong into your dream, no matter how personal, quirky, or outrageous. From getting started to hanging in there, you'll get fun, easy, step-by-step strategies & tips that will work!
I thoroughly enjoyed Nick Irons' adventure of swimming the length of the Great Muddy! For someone who once did a little long distance swimming in the rivers of the British Lake District, totally unprofessionally, just to see if I could, Swim Lessons is on a much grander scale, & for a much grander reason.
It wasn't enough for Nick to just make a record, to do something different in his life ... he wanted to bring attention to & draw in research money for the dread disease of Multiple Sclerosis, from which his father has suffered since Nick was 12. That's a major ingredient -- motivation: doing it for something or someone else.
In preparing for & then setting out on his adventure, he roped in (without much resistance!) his mother & brothers, & all manner of strangers who got caught up in the excitement & the project. From boating clubs who would accompany him, to TV reporters, product sponsors, & towns folks along the shores, Nick Irons never swam alone, nor crawled out each day without a welcoming committee.
Along the way, during that summer of 1997, he discovered ten secrets to success, & those are added to each chapter & make Swim Lessons both an exciting adventure as well as an inspirational read.
Besides the thrilling details of that marathon swim, you will learn from Swim Lessons about dreaming, focusing, planning, adjusting, enduring, motivating, humor, teamwork, flexibility & creativity.
Very well done!
