Overcoming Emotional Chaos
Doc Childre & Deborah Rozman
(Reviewer - Rebecca Brown)
2002 Jodere Group
ISBN: 1588720330
Eliminate anxiety, lift depression, & create security in your life.
That having been said Overcoming Emotional Chaos is not sensational at all. It is a quiet, modest & informative workbook on explaining what anxiety & depression are & how they are manifested, as well as presenting some exercises & practices for reducing & eliminating these reactions to the stresses in our lives, past & present.
I like the way Doc Childre & Deborah Rozman write -- simply, reflectively, offering information & resolutions without mopping the floor with our self-esteem.
I especially like the clear way they explain about our egos. This is for everyone who feels that their lives are overloaded with stress, & their emotions are off the charts, & their uncontrollable reactions are damaging their relationships.
The chapters cover:
• Emotions: The New Frontier
• Overcare, Over-identity, and Over-attachment: How to Overcome the Draining Cycle.
• Understanding Emotional Vanity
• The Heart of the Matter
• The Cut-Thru Technique
• The Heart Lock-In Technique
• Tools in Action
• Managing Overwhelm
• Relieving Fatigue
• Lifting Depression
• Creating Security in Relationships
• Emotional Management in the Workplace
• The Global Opportunity
Even though Overcoming Emotional Chaos is all about stress, it is not a stressful read, & I'm still working my way through the exercises & noticing the results! Good stuff!
There are worksheets & exercises, a host of references & a good index, together with how to learn more about the HeartMath Experience.
