  Marketing Phrase Book
   Gail Hamilton

1999 Hamilton House, Toronto ON Canada
    ISBN: 0968085342

A powerful thesaurus of proven-effective words & phrases to help you create successful promotions for anything.

Now a book is a book is a book is a book -- just thousands upon thousands of words -- right? Right -- & this is a book of words which, as you read through it -- foraging for the perfect ones for your latest project, actually evoke an astonishing array of ideas!

If you produce your own advertising then this book is a must -- it's the easy way to increase your sales & free up precious time for your business & not be grubbing around for the right words to say what you want people to know. This book assures that you will get more attention faster, reach more people & never have to struggle for words again.

Time is expensive -- why waste it hunting when you can open this book & everything you've ever wanted to say about your widget is there waiting for you?

What can be written about a book of phrases? A tome of tools? This is for whenever you're lost for a zippy title -- needing a fresh way to say something familiar -- scratching for a livelier explanation. For whenever you want to compose that first impression, draw in a crowd or refresh an old flyer, brochure or pamphlet.

Be not surprised -- every word in this well-laid out book -- you already know -- you just haven't organized them according to their use. Speaking of use, I found another one for this book one grey, dark morning when I was faced with a project that was taxing me, in more ways than one! These pumped-up phrases, this alphabetical listing of emotions & how to couch them -- got me out of my gloom right smartly!

Take Enjoy, for example: Make them a pleasure to enjoy -- Dream of enjoying -- Everything you need to enjoy -- Go on, enjoy the goodness of... & so forth. What a remedy for the blahs! What an infusion of succinct commands! Utilitarian words become lively tips; adding value & scope to your thoughts, to your communications.

Gail Hamilton has put together a bible, in the generic sense of the word, of energizing marketing cues to catch readers' eyes & keep their attention. I've seen few books in print with more exalted purposes.

If you are reaching out to people; if you're feeling stale; if you want to be noticed -- keep a copy of this Marketing Phrase Book close at hand & dive into it at least once a day to refresh your palette & keep up your pep -- & other than a tendency toward "gushiness" & a more liberal use of my ! -- I've seen no adverse side effects!

After the Introduction the sections are: Marketing Phrases -- Name that Sale -- Exclamations -- Reply Coupons -- Beginnings and Transitions & finally, taadaa -- those amazing Power Words & it's all cross-referenced too -- what more could you want?

This is one book that stays on my shelf near my computer & to which I refer every time I want to write something promotional!

There's more from Gail Hamilton's orderly pen: Fundraiser's Phrase Book Standard & Deluxe Editions plus a Professional Edition of Marketing Phrase Book.
