First-time children's author & French artist, Irene Schoch, has always loved cats, & The Cat's Vacation is an adorable book in which she tells her own whimsical take on what our four-legged feline friends really do when left alone.

According to Schoch, when we humans go on vacation, cats take one themselves, & get into all kinds of adventurous fun.

With bold, splashy colorful illustrations The Cat's Vacation, tells us all about what these critters think to do. The lead character is “your cat,” & boy! Does “your cat” have a great time phoning up friends & inviting them over to play.

There are two huge Crocodiles who stay in your parents' bedroom, & distant Tiger relatives from India who come to strum their guitars, & even some Penguins who show up for a good time.

On some nights “your cat” will throw a big party & play music.
On rainy days, he & his pals will stay inside & eat homemade apple pie. I'll bet you didn't even know your cat could bake!
On other nights, the critters will play board games.
Oh, & should your neighbor show up to water your plants, why she'll never know the difference, for your cat & his friends are experts at covering their tracks!

That is why, when you return from your vacation, it appears that nothing has changed & all is just as you left it. In fact, your cat might even appear to be quite sad & lonely. But, as this witty & imaginative book points out, nothing is really ever as it seems. Don't be fooled!

Ask your cat what he did while you were on vacation ... just don't be surprised if you don't get an answer. For that you'll have to get your own copy of The Cat's Vacation.
