SantaKid
James Patterson
(Reviewer - Narayan Radhakrishnan)

2004 Little, Brown & Co.
ISBN: 0316000612

A Christmas Present for all kids who know how to believe.

Sr. Associate Reviewer Narayan Radhakrishnan writes:

I took less than 1/10th of the time required to write this review, for reading Santa Kid.

Last year, I had remarked that James Patterson is the complete mystery author for having established his mark in horror: When The Wind Blows, legal thrillers: The Beach House, historical mysteries: The Jester, “whodunit” police procedurals like Violets Are Blue, & psychological thrillers such as Kiss The Girls, etc.

I was wrong.

With SantaKid, James Patterson transcends his usual mystery genre, to the realm of children's tales to deliver a cute & feel-good story of Xmas.

Did you know a young girl lives at the North Pole? She's the daughter of Mr. & Mrs. Santa -- the SantaKid. This year, their peaceful North Pole life is shattered when a business tycoon, Warrie Ransom buys the North Pole & in fact, buys Christmas itself.

Now it's up to the SantaKid to save Christmas, & restore the true spirit of the festive season -- belief in Xmas & belief in self. How she does it, is my friends, for you to find out, or rather for your kids!

SantaKid is a delightful read. The highlight of the work is of course, the wonderful illustrations by Michael Garland -- “wonderful” being an understatement!

SantaKid also is important in another respect. With this work, Patterson joins the ranks of bestselling authors who have published Christmas specials, including David Baldacci in (The Christmas Train); John Grisham in Skipping Christmas now to be republished as Christmas With The Kranks, after the success of the movie of the same name); Sidney Sheldon's out of print Sharing Christmas & many others.

SantaKid is the perfect Christmas gift for your child. Believe me!! B-E-L-E-I-V-E! M-E! For ages 3-6 years.

More from James Patterson:
The Lake House
Sam's Letters for Jennifer
Suzanne's Diary for Nicholas
The Third Degree
The Big Bad Wolf
Four Blind Mice
& many, many more!
