Dr. Barbara Callison
has been a masters swimmer for 31 years with many years of experience as a swim coach and swim instructor for young children. In addition, she has run a marathon and participated in weight training routines to augment swimming strength. She has participated in local, United States and world meets, taking many first places within her age group.
After raising five children, Barbara earned a master degree in natural science and later, a doctorate in science curriculum and instruction. For twenty five years she taught in the Geology Department at San Jose State University as well as teaching a physiology course at De Anza Community College in Cupertino, CA. Since retiring in 2001, she teaches natural science in elementary schools with the Environmental Volunteers. She has written two other books. One is a childrenšs book titled "Humphrey, the Whale Who Lost His Way" , and the other one is a local book called "Growing Up In Los Altos".
